Tin Plants

Tin Plants

These are great gifts that kids can make for teacher's gifts, school fetes or to keep for themselves to watch the plants grow.

You will need:

  • empty tins from the pantry
  • ribbons
  • gift tags
  • kid's gardening gloves
  • nail or screw
  • soil or potting mix
  • plant cuttings (herbs, succulents & geraniums work well)

  • Remove the paper off the tins and clean well. With a nail or screw, punch holes in the bottom of the tins (adults may have to do this).

Make sure children are wearing gloves and ask them to fill up the tins to almost the top.

Place a plant cutting into each tin pressing down firmly. Gently water. Tie a ribbon around the tin and add a gift tag if required.

Keep in a sunny position and water every second day.
